Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern in Des Moines, IA to gain real-world experience by applying standard engineering techniques to water and wastewater projects.

You will work under supervision of a senior Engineer, assist with design calculations, prepare drawings and reports, visit project sites, and support RFIs for projects under construction. This internship offers mentoring and a pathway to professional growth within HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on water and wastewater projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist with design calculations, drafting technical reports, project drawings and specifications, site visits, and RFIs for projects under construction.
• Support water and sewer studies for federal, state, and local municipalities.
• Connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring programs.
