Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Equipment Operator for Water & Wastewater Services to operate and transport heavy equipment and trucks on assigned county projects.

Responsibilities include pre-checks, completing work orders, and performing roadway and drainage tasks with a team under supervision. CDL Class A is required with at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Requires one (1) year experience operating heavy equipment related to area of assignment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License for duration of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Transports construction equipment using a lowbed semi-trailer; operates tractor-trailer and tandem trucks in local hauling tasks.
• Loads and unloads vehicles as required; operates heavy duty road roller in resurfacing and roadway construction.
• Operates front-end loader or small tractor with hydraulic loading lift and back hoe digging shovel.
• Performs operator pre-checks on equipment; checks lubricants, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
