Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in chemistry, biology, or related field with applicable coursework.
• Minimum five years in municipal utility operations.
• Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Class III Water or Class III Wastewater Operator license desired; continuing education credits required.”

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Administer compliance programs and liaise with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Manage water quality, pretreatment, FOG, stormwater, and lab programs.
• Prepare local, state, and federal compliance reports and SOPs.
• Maintain records of testing and ensure logs are up-to-date.
• Inspect operations for regulatory and safety compliance.
• Provide training and support to plant personnel; track training records.
• Address water quality complaints and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain chemical inventories and assist with budget preparation.
