Job summary

STV Incorporated seeks a Water/Wastewater Intern in New York. The hybrid internship supports both undergrad and grad students to learn and contribute to meaningful projects, with at least 3 days in the office weekly and a preferred duration of 3 months or more with possible full-time work.

You will assist with hydraulic flow calculations, pump sizing, cost estimates, and design of water and wastewater facilities, gaining exposure to management and client interfaces.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
• Assist in pump calculations and developing system curves for sizing pumps.
• Prepare construction and design cost estimates under guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
• Assist in planning and design of water and wastewater facility projects, incl. pump stations and treatment plants.
• Gain exposure to project management, client interface, and business development for future projects.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe installations.
• Review construction shop drawings and submittals for design compliance.
• Perform other tasks to support project goals and team objectives.]

Job description

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Water/Wastewater Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

Responsibilities

Required

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or interest in water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities design is preferred.
• Familiarity with production tools, or modeling and design software is a plus.
• Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.

Compensation Range: $54,810.00 - $62,284.00
