Job summary

Carollo Engineers is seeking a water/wastewater engineering intern to support Carollo’s vision. You will work on municipal water and wastewater treatment projects, including major expansions, studies, and critical assignments to help create a sustainable and resilient environment for our community.

Enrolled or completed sophomore year of civil or environmental engineering, coursework in hydraulics and treatment processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Highly motivated, articulate and self-starter.
• Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis and innovative techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with peers and mentors.
• Enrolled or completed sophomore year of civil or environmental engineering degree program.
• Coursework in the field of environmental engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes and treatment plant design.
• Experience and/or coursework in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance
• Previous related internship experience a plus, but not required
• Knowledge and experience in water chemistry and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performing engineering work in water / wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.
• Work on engineering planning and design projects.
• Prepare reports.
• Develop plans and specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates for various projects.
• Hydraulic system modeling.
• Development of alternative analysis of design options.
