Job summary

WSP in Houston seeks an AVP Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead expansion of our Texas water resources practice. You will guide planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater systems, manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in water resources, a civil/environmental engineering background, multi-state license, and strong communication and QA/QC skills to deliver complex projects for public and private clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with water/wastewater focus.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in water resources engineering.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Strong knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance practices.
• Proficient in technical computations and interpreting plans and specs.
• Experience inspecting and investigating facilities with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of data collection for studies, planning and designs.
• Supervise civil engineering work and evaluate existing infrastructure.
• Lead development of technologies, monitoring devices and design standards.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on issues.
• Prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.
• Communicate clearly in sketches, drawings and written form.
• Perform engineering analyses using electronic systems and software.
• Mentor staff and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate field work, permitting and project scheduling.
• Collaborate with engineers and planners on funded infrastructure projects.
