OVERVIEW

Are you an accomplished Water/Wastewater Engineer with experience in design and construction oversight of water and wastewater infrastructure? If this sounds like you, Merrick wants to talk!

Merrick is a mid-sized, multi-discipline, employee-owned consulting engineering firm that prides itself on building deep relationships with its customers. Our water group in San Antonio, Texas is growing and seeking collaborative Water/Wastewater Engineers to join our hybrid team.

Annual salary range for this position is $103,000.00 - $133,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

1. Perform assignments in the analysis and design of water and wastewater systems.
2. Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports, and work products.
3. Provide construction support and oversight, including administration, limited inspection, document review for design conformance standards, and support for municipal water and sewer operations and maintenance.
4. Perform independent design tasks, review designs by others, and prepare bid documents, including drawings and specifications.
5. Organize drawings, reports, calculations, and associated project deliverables with limited supervision (after receiving initial instructions from the project manager).
6. Make sound engineering decisions, exercise initiative and judgment, and possess in-depth industry knowledge.
7. Interface with clients and local, state, and federal government agencies.
8. Lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communication.
9. Some travel may be required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering (ABET Accredited).
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in Colorado within 6 months.
3. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in the design and construction oversight of water and/or wastewater systems.
4. Experience with water and wastewater system design and operation.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with clients and government agencies.
6. Ability to learn and apply Merrick procedures as required.
7. Valid driver's license, a good driving record, and insurability under Merrick’s insurance.
8. Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience with AutoCAD, Water/Sanitary Sewer modeling, BioWin Modeling, GIS systems.
2. Public works design experience with government agencies.
3. Masters degree preferred.
4. Local candidates preferred.
