Job summary

MJ Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Land Surveying, P.C. in Clifton Park, NY invites a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Engineering Department at the corporate headquarters.

You will work in a project team supporting water and wastewater projects from programming through construction, and prepare designs, plans, and technical specifications. The ideal candidate has a ABET-accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, 0–4 years of experience, NY Intern Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 0-4 years of relevant civil engineering experience, including water/wastewater.
• NY Intern Engineer registration preferred.
• Knowledge of state/federal/local water and wastewater regulations.
• Ability to work across multiple design teams and meet schedules.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizen or eligible to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Duties

• Work within a project team to support water/ wastewater projects from initial project programming up to and through construction.
• Assist in the preparation of design calculations and technical specifications for a variety of water and wastewater projects, including utility pipelines, storage facilities, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
• Prepare project plans including site plans, utility plans and profiles, process water and wastewater plans to support project approvals and construction.
• Support in the preparation of technical reports including engineering reports, utility master plans, capital improvement plans, condition assessments, and feasibility studies for water and sanitary systems.
• Conduct field investigations to assess site conditions, inspect facilities and provide engineering support during design and construction.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project team members.

Qualifications

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering from an ABET- accredited college.
• 0 to 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, including water and wastewater.
• Registration as an Intern Engineer in NY is preferred.
• Understanding of State, Federal, and local regulations specific to water supply systems, sanitary sewers, and wastewater treatment.
• Ability to work within multiple design teams and execute to meet demanding schedules.
• Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship.

Pay is based on applicant’s ability/experience and will be rated accordingly. We offer a very competitive benefit package.
