Key Responsibilities
- Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projects
- Assist in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, supporting senior engineering staff
- Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands; conduct feasibility studies for new or expanded public utility infrastructure
- Analyze and recommend water and wastewater treatment technologies based on project requirements and effectiveness
- Design and develop specifications for various pumping and force main systems
- Ensure design and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
- Prepare feasibility studies related to the collection, treatment, and distribution of water and wastewater
- Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering
- Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience designing water treatment plants, in part or in whole, a plus
- 5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines and other assigned project parameters
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
