Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineer to support water and wastewater projects in Massachusetts. The role involves assisting project managers, performing technical engineering tasks, and preparing reports and designs for public infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a Civil or Environmental engineering background with coursework or experience in water systems, is proficient with Office tools, and may hold an EIT. Hydraulics modeling experience is a plus as is AutoCAD Civil 3D familiarity.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in water/wastewater or related field
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred
• 4–7 years of experience in water & wastewater or related civil engineering projects
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
• Familiar with hydraulic system analysis models
• Must possess a valid driver’s license

Job description

• Assist Project Managers with engineering design for water and wastewater facilities using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Perform technical engineering work associated with water and wastewater engineering
• Prepare engineering reports and feasibility studies
• Develop engineering-related calculations and visual aids
• Develop hydraulic models and perform engineering analysis
• Participate in field investigations
• Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles
• Complete permitting applications
• Attend meetings with officials, engineers, and contractors
• Contribute to planning, evaluation, design, permitting, and construction across the project lifecycle
• Support rehabilitation of aging infrastructure and development of water supply, treatment, storage, distribution wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal systems
• Conduct system reviews, alternative analyses, equipment evaluation and selection, and coordinate with regulatory agencies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water/wastewater or other related field
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred
• 4-7 years of experience in water & wastewater or related civil engineering projects, including design, analysis, and studies
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
• Familiar with computer models for hydraulic system analysis
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
