The role focuses on delivering hydraulic calculations, design, and precision reporting for water and wastewater projects. You will interact with township and utility authorities, prepare proposals, and manage multiple assignments to meet budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, specifications and codes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, concise reports and proposals.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and manage project meetings with staff, clients, or contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydraulic calculations and layout of structures.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports and bid documents for water treatment systems including arsenic, radium, and iron removal.
  • Provide engineering support to inspection departments and act as a firm representative to townships and utility authorities.
  • Draft concise proposals for new work and manage multiple assignments on time and within budget.
  • Identify problems proactively with thorough analysis and effective resolution.
  • Handle regulatory permitting and assist with energy audits.

Job description

My client is a top notch Consulting Engineering firm that is actively looking for Water Resources and Wastewater Engineers. Key is previous Consulting Engineering experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Hydraulic calculations and layout of structures.
  • Producing correspondence/reports/biddable documents for arsenic, radium and iron removal water plants; wells; water storage tanks; pumping stations; piping systems; and wastewater treatment plant improvements.
  • Engineering support to our inspection department.
  • Act as firm’s representative to Townships; utility authorities; and private utility companies.
  • Draft concise proposals for new work.
  • Capable of addressing multiple simultaneous assignments, on-time and within budgets.
  • "Proactive"' identification of problems/issues coupled with detailed analysis and effective resolution.
  • Producing all deliverables associated with this position.
  • Capable of addressing multiple simultaneous assignments, on-time and within budgets.
  • Regulatory permitting.
  • Assist with energy audits.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater equipment and their purpose.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated construction, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and handbooks.
  • Ability to clarify and concisely express thoughts verbally and in written correspondence/reports/specifications.
  • Provides effort and takes pride in all work assignments produced.
  • Not afraid to ask for guidance/assistance in order to expedite the date of assignment deliverables.
  • Ability to simultaneously work on group and individual assignments.
  • Capable of providing directions and mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Capable of managing project meeting attended by either staff, clients or contractor’s personnel.
  • Familiarity with NJDEP regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Must have effective communication, management and writing skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Word/Excel products.
  • AutoCAD capability a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering curriculum from an accredited four-year college or university.
