Job summary

AH Engineering Consultants, a dynamic environmental engineering firm, is seeking a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to join our Hampstead, NC office. The role targets 2–10 years of municipal water and wastewater design experience and offers the chance to work on planning, design, permitting, and project management across multiple utilities.

You will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, prepare reports and drawings, manage budgets and schedules, and support business development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil or Environmental Engineering and 2–10 years of consulting water/wastewater experience.
• Experience designing municipal water and wastewater systems is required.
• Ability to prepare plans, specifications, reports and design calculations.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Prepare or oversee reports, specs, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Manage projects through design; assist during bidding and construction.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and teams.
• Support permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in client meetings, proposals, business development.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
