Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer, a long-established engineering firm, is seeking a Construction Manager to support the build-out of water and wastewater facilities. You will supervise on-site construction activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with project specs and safety standards.

The role requires strong field oversight, experience with QA/QC, and ability to manage documentation, RFIs, and submittals across multiple sites in the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of water / wastewater treatment facility construction experience.
• Professional Engineer License in Minnesota or Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observations, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities.
• Manage and prepare requests for proposals, verify material quantities, and review payment applications.
• Coordinate with Hazen teams, owner, contractor, and third-party inspection/testing firms.
• Review and interpret Contract Documents including specifications and drawings.
• Verify and track work per approved submittals and drawings.
• Assist in processing RFIs and shop drawings from the Contractor.
• Prepare sketches and data for Design Engineer's use.
• Observe Contractor performance and safety compliance.
• Coordinate startup, testing, checkout, and training activities.
• Facilitate communication between Contractor, Design Engineer, Facility Managers, and Owner.
• Review Contractor schedules, pay estimates, and change orders.
