Job summary

California Water Service Group invites you to join as an Operations Manager to lead the district's water system operations, maintenance, and customer service. The role oversees budgeting, regulatory compliance, and capital projects, and serves as a public official in meetings and forums for Selma or Visalia, CA.

You will supervise staff, ensure water quality and reliability, coordinate with multiple departments, and participate in GRC and safety programs while maintaining community relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in water industry or field operations.
• Five years of district management or supervisory experience.
• Five years in water utility field operations, customer service, or related department.
• State Water Resources Control Board Water Distribution Operator Certification Grade III required.
• Must obtain Grade IV within 12 months.
• Water Distribution Operator Certification Grade II required.
• Must complete Operations Leadership Pathway I & II within 24 months.
• Must live within 30 minutes of the district.
• Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid California Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Manages staff, performance evaluations, training, and staffing decisions.
• Oversees customer service and billing/water quality inquiries.
• Ensures water quality and operations across distribution and treatment.
• Manages budget development, expenditures, and capital projects.
• Leads on-site operations and after-hours standby duties as needed.
• Ensures compliance with safety guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinates with other departments and government/regulatory bodies.
• Represents the company in public forums and community meetings.
