Job summary

City of Grand Prairie seeks an innovative leader to oversee the operations, construction, and maintenance of water production, distribution, and wastewater systems. The role emphasizes collaboration, strategic planning, and financial stewardship to ensure reliable service for residents.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of progressively responsible utility management experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, and relevant TCEQ licenses.

Qualifications

• Education requires a two-year associate degree or equivalent.
• Over 5 years of related experience in utility administration or related leadership roles.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License required; TCEQ licenses encouraged or required as specified.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily water utility system maintenance by reviewing resources and methods.
• Administers water/wastewater capital project budgets and tracks payments for infrastructure.
• Supervises personnel, provides feedback, and coordinates training and staffing.
• Coordinates with internal/external customers and city departments.
• Prepares fiscal plans for the coming year and conducts budget review meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
