Job summary

South Adams County Water and Sanitation District is seeking field maintenance staff in Commerce City, Colorado. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining water, irrigation and wastewater pipelines, plus operating hydrants, valves, and related equipment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, basic mechanical aptitude, and good communication skills. Experience in water/wastewater or utilities is a plus; a drug screen and background check are required.

This field position performs a variety of duties including:

• Installs, repairs, replaces water, irrigation and wastewater system pipeline
• Operates and maintains fire hydrants, valves, and air vacuum assemblies
• Operates equipment such as backhoes, front end loaders, skidsters, tractors, and dump trucks
• Organizes and performs traffic and work zone safety
• Participates in the on-call rotation schedule and responds to emergencies as needed

Qualified candidates should have:

• A High School Diploma OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver's license, CDL a plus
• Experience in water/wastewater industry, utilities, construction or related field helpful
• State of Colorado Distribution Certifications helpful
• Solid knowledge in use of hand and power tools with strong mechanical aptitude
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
• Solid problem solving, troubleshooting and communication skills
• Solid ability to adapt to changing priorities, and working in a team environment
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs frequently and ability to work in changing weather conditions

Successful candidate will be required to complete a drug screen and background check prior to employment.

Salary Range:$ 20.55-37.21/hr based on experience/certifications
