Job DetailsJob Location: Austin - Pflugerville, TX 78660Job Summary:

This position is responsible for safely operating tanker transports from a water source to a customer location to deliver water, ensuring that all related paperwork and driver logs are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
  • Follow dispatch route, plan route changes, and prioritize jobs.
  • Maintain alignment with project supervisors, superintendent, project manager, and dispatch.
  • Safely operates a 2000K to 4000K gallon water truck.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
  • Produce high-quality work, safely and productively at all times.
  • Performs all pre trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
  • Properly lifts and maneuvers hoses on and off the tanker truck to load and unload water.
  • Hooks up and disconnects trailers as required.
  • Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change fluids & filters, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) and ensure vehicle is maintained clean.
  • Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
  • Provide ad hoc support and assistance in the daily operation of shop and field activities.
  • Communicate with dispatch to report issues and as needed.
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
  • Comply with OSHA, ICC, and DOT regulations.
  • Regular attendance is required according to company policy to ensure the crew can operate at the normal efficiency level.
  • Must be available to work varied shifts and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting the company’s safety culture.
  • Perform other duties of a similar or related nature as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:
  • Clean driving record with no violations, and must be able to clear a background check and drug screen.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles.
  • Able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
  • Able to work on an individual basis and in a team environment.
  • Able to operate a tanker truck safely.
  • Able to drive through all weather, road, and traffic conditions.
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to push/pull 80+ lbs. Ability to lift/carry 80+ lbs.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to: steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Class A driver’s license with a clear MVR and Medical Card required.
  • Tanker endorsement required.
  • 2+ years proven experience driving a commercial vehicle in a construction environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to operate heavy equipment, perform manual labor, and work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist frequently.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend frequently.May climb stairs or ladders, etc. on a regular basis.
  • Exposure to extreme heat or cold external temperatures.
  • Frequent sitting along with frequent standing and moving activity.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to: steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
  • Able to safely operate commercial and/or motor vehicles.
  • Must be able to push/pull 80+lbs. Must be able to lift/carry 80+ lbs.
