Knife River - South in Texas is seeking a CDL water truck driver to safely maintain and operate a water truck to transport and spray water on road surfaces at the designated location, keeping gravel/clay roads at optimum moisture content.

The water truck will perform work in Ennis, with candidates in surrounding areas encouraged to apply, including Waxahachie and Hillsboro. This is an on-site, full-time role requiring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement and ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, DOT physical, and a physical performance evaluation.
• Must maintain proper licenses/endorsements and a safe driving record.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily equipment walk-around inspections and address unsafe conditions.
• Safely operate water truck and pumps, applying water per surface requirements.
• Record pre- and post-trip inspections on the vehicle inspection form.
• Monitor vehicle performance, fluids, and general mechanical fitness.
• Assist construction crews and maintain safe, courteous relations while on site.
• Communicate effectively and maintain professional relations with coworkers.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Knife River has an excellent opportunity for a CDL driver to safely maintain & operate a water truck to transport and spray water on road surfaces at the designated location with the goal of keeping gravel/ clay road surfaces at optimum moisture content.

The water truck will actually perform work in Ennis. Candidates in the surrounding area are encouraged to apply, including Waxahachie and Hillsboro.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Must have a Class B CDL license with Tanker Endorsement and ability to operate standard transmission vehicle.
2. Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen, DOT physical, physical performance evaluation.
3. Must provide and maintain proper license and endorsements, must have acceptable driving record.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum 1 years' experience within the road construction industry is preferred.
2. Previous experience operating a Water Truck is preferred.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
2. Accurately record pre & post-trip inspections on daily vehicle inspection form.
3. Safely operate water truck and water pumps.
4. Properly apply water volumes according to road surface.
5. Accurately record gallons of water taken from each source staying in compliance with daily limits.
6. Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness.
7. Assist construction crews while waiting to apply water.
8. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
9. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations (material quality, equipment operation/repair).
10. Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
11. Ensure OSHA, EPA,DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
12. Regular and timely attendance is essential to this position.
13. Performs other laboring duties as needed when not operating water truck.
