Job summary

The National Park Service seeks a trainee to work under a journeyman to maintain, test, repair, and calibrate utility systems, with a focus on water treatment and related plant operations.

You will perform equipment checks, collect water samples, make plumbing repairs, and operate vehicles while following Federal, state, and local regulations. Training supports earning Colorado licenses before attaining the journey level.

Responsibilities

• Complete water treatment processes in accordance with regulations and policy.
• Make scheduled equipment checks to gauges, meters, motors, pumps, feeders, and controlling devices.
• Collect water samples and conduct basic tests (pH, fluoride or chlorine content).
• Make plumbing repairs by removing, cleaning, replacing, packing, and sealing parts of utility systems.
• Operate vehicles and work under supervision to gain journey-level competencies.
