Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Water Treatment Specialist to ensure sanitary conditions for Soldiers. You will perform site prep, set up and operate water treatment equipment, manage water supplies, and inspect facilities for health hazards.

Training is provided with practical hands-on and classroom components. Earn while you learn through tuition assistance and federal/state benefits; after Basic and Advanced Individual Training, opportunities exist for civilian health and safety inspection

Qualifications

• Interest in algebra, biology, chemistry, and general science.
• High attention to detail.
• Interest in protecting the environment.

Responsibilities

• Site reconnaissance and preparation for water treatment activity.
• Set up equipment and facilities; operation and maintenance of water treatment equipment.
• Management of portable water supplies; monitoring storage, transport and disposal of waste.
• Water quality analysis and testing; inspection of facilities and food supplies for disease and environmental hazards.
