Job summary

Cullerton Group is seeking an Application / Process Engineer near Charlotte, NC to design water treatment systems and prepare technical proposals. The role combines process engineering with applications engineering, including costing, equipment selection, and customer support.

You’ll review RFQs/RFPs, size equipment, develop PFDs/P&IDs, and prepare BOMs and quote packages while working with customers and cross-functional teams through project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5+ years of water treatment system design or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience with water treatment/filtration systems.
• Strong hydraulics, pressure loss, sizing, and system integration knowledge.
• Experience with PFDs/P&IDs and 3D CAD/design tools (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, filters, tanks, sensors, instrumentation.
• Strong technical writing and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Design complete water treatment and filtration systems.
• Review RFQs/RFPs and develop proposals, scopes, and pricing.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pressure-loss analysis, and sizing.
• Develop PFDs and support P&IDs, layouts, and system documentation.
• Select pumps, valves, filters, instrumentation, and other system components.
• Develop BOMs, data sheets, cost models, and quote packages.
• Work directly with customers, sales, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing.
• Support projects from initial application and proposal through manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
• Provide technical presentations and product/application training.
