Job summary

Town of Gilbert seeks a Water Treatment Plant Operator I, II, III at the North Water Treatment Plant in Gilbert, AZ. The role reports to the Water Treatment Plant Utility Supervisor and involves operating SCADA or manual controls, performing basic maintenance, and conducting laboratory analyses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification required at time of hire.
• Technical training in water treatment plant operations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the water treatment plant using SCADA or manual controls.
• Perform routine plant maintenance and assist maintenance staff.
• Conduct laboratory analyses and jar tests to determine chemical dosages.
• Maintain logbooks, lab books, reports, and ozone database records.
• Monitor plant operations via DCS/SCADA; ensure safe operation around treatment chemicals.
