Help Maintain a Critical Piece of Colorado’s Water Infrastructure

Todd Creek Village Metropolitan District is seeking a dependable, hands-on Water Treatment Plant Lead Operator to support the daily operation and maintenance of our raw water infrastructure. This is a vital role that ensures safe and efficient water delivery across the system while providing excellent long-term growth potential for the right candidate.


Utilize your technical Water Treatment knowledge while making a big impact for a small water district, servicing areas of Thornton & Brighton, CO. Under the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Manager and in compliance with all state and federal regulations, the lead operator performs duties vital to the success and safety of the Todd Creek Village Metropolitan District drinking water plant. This position would be best filled by a hard-working individual eager to gain new knowledge and skills and is excited by the prospect of growing into more responsibilities as the water district grows.


This is a Full Time position as defined by working 40 regularly scheduled hours per week with on-call rotations, overtime, and flexibility as needed by District Operations


Education & Certifications Requirements:

  • Current Class B Certified Drinking Water Operators License or the ability to obtain Class B within 6 months of hiring
  • A class R driver’s license and clean driving record

What You’ll Do:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Completing daily rounds and labs as outlined by the Plant Manager
  • Handling hazardous chemicals in a safe and efficient manner
  • Monitoring SCADA and adjusting within the operating limits outlined by the SOPs
  • Collecting and checking compliance samples and ensuring delivery to Colorado Analytical Laboratory
  • Performing On-call duties related to the drinking water plant, distribution system, and raw water systems duringassigned 1 week “on-call” periods
  • Reviewing and interpreting data gathered in rounds, labs, and compliance samples


Skills & Competencies:

  • Maintain the minimum level certifications for the Water Treatment Plant
  • Capable of moving 40-pound bags and 55-gallon barrels of chemical
  • Ability to follow and understand safety procedures
  • Ability to follow and understand Standard Operating Procedures
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and SCADA systems
  • Demonstrate competency in water quality testing and sample collection
  • Demonstrate an understanding of both state and federal regulations
  • Intermediate knowledge of hand tools, power tools, mathematics, plumbing, pumps, valves, motors, filters, andequipment maintenance
  • Demonstrate the potential to train, educate, and supervise new and less experienced operators
