Job summary

The City of Titusville seeks qualified candidates for Treatment Plant Operator roles to operate and monitor water and wastewater facilities. Positions include Operator A, B, C, or Trainee with comprehensive on-the-job instruction and safety policies in place.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and must meet licensing requirements or pursue State of Florida water licenses via approved coursework. Shifts and emergency call-outs are possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old; Florida water license options or coursework are preferred.
• Ability to learn methods of water and wastewater treatment and operate plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Regulates flow to and from water/wastewater plants; operates pumps and feeds chemicals as needed.
• Reads meters, changes charts, keeps log sheets, and prepares operating reports.
• Performs routine chemical analysis and reports equipment breakdowns to supervision.
• Participates in minor repairs and general maintenance; handles custodial duties as needed.
• Monitors communications and responds to citizen inquiries under supervision.
