Job summary

The City of Albany Public Works Department is looking for operators to join the Water Treatment Team, operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment to treat and deliver safe drinking water for Albany residents.

Positions range from Operator I to Operator III, with duties including SCADA monitoring, sampling, reporting, and routine maintenance, plus on-call rotation and adherence to safety standards. Excellent benefits and retirement plan included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in operation and maintenance of a water treatment facility.
• Willingness to obtain required Oregon Water Treatment certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment equipment and processes.
• Perform laboratory testing and daily plant operational checks.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies ensuring safe drinking water.
• Maintain accurate records using SCADA and other computer systems.
