City of Pharr, TX seeks a Full-Time Water Treatment Plant Operator to safeguard water quality. You will operate pumps, chemical stations, reservoirs, and monitoring equipment, test water samples, and adjust processes to meet safety standards.

This onsite role emphasizes reliability, analytical thinking, and teamwork with city professionals. You will manage chemicals, oversee sludge disposal, and ensure compliance while interacting with residents and stakeholders to maintain high service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and monitoring water treatment processes.
• Ability to monitor panels, adjust controls, and regulate flow and pressure.
• Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and basic software tools.
• Strong analytical skills and commitment to safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Operate and monitor pumps, chemical stations, reservoirs, towers, filters, and instrumentation.
• Collect and test water samples to ensure safety and compliance.
• Adjust controls to clarify water and manage sludge disposal.
• Handle chemicals (ammonia, chlorine, aluminum sulfate, etc.) for disinfection.
• Maintain records and operate PLCs/SCADA; monitor conditions and detect issues.
