Job summary

City of Temple, Texas seeks an entry-level water plant operator to assist with operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting the water treatment plant and distribution system. You will work under a licensed operator and be required to work flexible hours at a 24-hour facility, including weekends and holidays.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma and a valid Class D Water License from TCEQ; training for a C Surface Water license will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with water treatment or utility operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment processes in accordance with permits.
• Conduct sampling and laboratory duties for quality control.
• Maintain records and reports on shift with accuracy.
• Assist with inspections and maintenance projects.
• Work in confined spaces and around hazardous chemicals.
