Job summary

South Western Communications, Inc. seeks a Wastewater Operator to join the American Products facility in Strafford, MO. The role focuses on safe, compliant operation of the wastewater system and support of plant processes.

You will work Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, performing sampling, chemical dosing, equipment checks, data entry, and routine maintenance while adhering to safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Wastewater experience preferred.
• Hazwoper 24-hour required within the first 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and safely operate the paint line wash and wastewater systems.
• Adjust treatment equipment controls and monitor meters, gauges, and process data.
• Add treatment chemicals (polymers, metal salts, nutrients) as needed.
• Collect and test water samples; calibrate test equipment.
• Record data in computer systems.
• Perform basic maintenance using hand and power tools.
• Clean and maintain tanks, basins, screens, and other equipment.

Pay: $21.00-$23.00/hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential

What You Bring

Education

Experience & Certifications

Skills

• Basic maintenance skills (plumbing, pumps, power tools).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
• Strong safety awareness and use of PPE.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk for long periods, climb stairs, reach overhead, crouch, and kneel.
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Use of required PPE: safety glasses, safety footwear, chemical protective equipment.
