Job summary

The City of Phoenix is seeking experienced Operations & Maintenance Technicians to operate and maintain pumps and mechanical equipment at water or wastewater facilities. You will work with SCBA and support regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship.

The role requires the ability to work in varied environments and adhere to safety standards. Ideal candidates interpret SCADA data, understand coagulation and disinfection processes, and can work independently or in teams.

Qualifications

• 1 year of O&M of water/wastewater facilities or completion of City O&M Trainee program.
• ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment certification at application time.
• ADEQ Grade 2 certification before end of probation.
• SCBA certification maintenance as required by OSHA standards.
• Able to work 24/7 including evenings/nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pumps and mechanical equipment at water/wastewater plants.
• Interpret process readings, SCADA trends, and equipment performance indicators.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship in daily duties.
