Job summary

Kleinfelder in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair water treatment systems. This role offers field assignments with a company vehicle and opportunities to lead maintenance projects across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include installing and servicing pumps, motors, valves, and chemical feed systems; guiding entry-level staff; and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while supporting plant performance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in water treatment operations preferred.
  • 2 years hands‑on water/wastewater treatment experience.
  • Understanding of equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with data management and reporting software.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment and system issues.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Treatment Mechanic to perform advanced-level work in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water treatment systems and related infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading technical maintenance tasks and projects to support optimal plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps, motors, valves, blowers, chemical feed systems, and other treatment equipment.
  • Diagnosing equipment and systems issues.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate with operations staff to support continuous plant performance and efficiency.
  • Monitors operational performance of mechanical systems and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to water operations, including production data, maintenance logs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Provide guidance and training to entry-level technicians and staff professionals as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in water treatment operations is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in hands‑on water and/or wastewater treatment experience.
  • Thorough understanding of equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for data management and reporting.

Anticiapted Salary range is $19.09 per hour to $31.86 per hour.
