Job summary

Water Way Solutions, LLC seeks an experienced Water Transfer Lead to oversee day-to-day field crews and deliver safe, efficient water transfer operations. This hands-on leadership role requires clear communication, team development, and strict adherence to safety standards.

You will coordinate pumps, pipelines, tanks, and meters, supervise crews, ensure timely completion, and maintain accurate field data. The position is full-time, based in Midland, TX, with a four-week rotation and travel as

Qualifications

  • At least two years of water transfer leadership experience.
  • Hands-on experience with pump setup and operation, pipeline installation, tank monitoring, flow measurement, and basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record for the preceding three years.
  • Proficient in safely operating skid steers, telehandlers, and deployers.
  • Reliable transportation to and from company facilities or designated mobilization points.
  • Ability to travel, including by air, and work at remote project locations for the full four-week rotation; longer stays may be required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding field work outdoors in varying weather and terrain, while safely handling hoses, piping, tools, and related equipment.
  • Dependable, punctual, focused, team-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise water transfer technicians and operators; assign daily tasks, communicate expectations, and provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Promote an accountable, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment in every phase of the job.
  • Conduct pre-job planning, safety meetings, equipment inspections, and hazard reviews; enforce policies and client requirements.
  • Assist with site-specific emergency response plans and ensure hazards, incidents, and actions are documented promptly.
  • Coordinate the rig-up, operation, monitoring, and rig-down of pumps, layflat pipeline, manifolds, tanks, meters, and related equipment.
  • Operate pumps and safely transfer water between storage and jobsite systems; monitor flow, pressures, and volumes.
  • Respond quickly to changing field conditions, alarms, leaks, or client needs to protect people, equipment, and environment.
  • Coordinate with the Field Supervisor to schedule personnel and allocate pumps, pipelines, tanks, and other resources.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment; complete preventive maintenance and records to minimize downtime.
  • Track equipment usage, storage volumes, transferred quantities, and material inventory accurately.

Position Overview

Water Way Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Water Transfer Lead to oversee day-to-day field crews and help deliver safe, efficient, and reliable water transfer operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who communicates clearly, develops team members, protects equipment, and consistently meets client and project expectations.

The Lead works closely with the Field Supervisor to coordinate people and equipment, execute the job plan, maintain accurate field data, and keep operations aligned with company safety standards, client specifications, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Safety
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise water transfer technicians and operators; assign daily tasks, communicate expectations, and provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Promote an accountable, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment in every phase of the job.
  • Conduct pre-job planning, safety meetings, equipment inspections, and hazard reviews; enforce company policies, client requirements, environmental regulations, and safe-work procedures.
  • Assist with site-specific emergency response plans and ensure hazards, incidents, operational changes, and corrective actions are communicated and documented promptly.
Field Operations & Equipment
  • Coordinate the rig-up, operation, monitoring, and rig-down of pumps, layflat pipeline, manifolds, storage tanks, meters, and related water transfer equipment.
  • Operate pumps and safely transfer water between storage and jobsite systems while monitoring flow rates, pressures, tank levels, and transferred volumes.
  • Respond quickly to changing field conditions, alarms, leaks, equipment issues, or client needs to protect people, equipment, the environment, and job continuity.
  • Coordinate with the Field Supervisor to schedule personnel and allocate pumps, pipelines, tanks, and other resources to meet project requirements.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot company-owned and rented equipment; complete preventive maintenance and required maintenance records to minimize downtime.
  • Track equipment usage, storage volumes, transferred quantities, and material inventory accurately.
Client Communication, Automation & Reporting
  • Maintain professional, consistent communication with clients, project managers, and supervisors.
  • Address client questions and concerns promptly, escape issues when appropriate, and communicate job status, risks, and resource needs clearly.
  • Verify that H2Optics meters, sensors, and connectivity are functioning properly and that live field data is recorded and available to the client and Water Way Solutions operations leadership.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily and project reports covering progress, water volumes, equipment usage, maintenance, downtime, and safety events.
Required Qualifications
  • At least two years of water transfer leadership experience.
  • Hands-on experience with pump setup and operation, pipeline installation, tank monitoring, flow measurement, and basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record for the preceding three years.

  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and background check.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel, including by air, and work at remote project locations for the full four-week rotation; operational needs may occasionally require a longer stay.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding field work outdoors in varying weather and terrain, while safely handling hoses, piping, tools, and related equipment.

Preferred Qualification
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
