Job summary

City of Provo is seeking a full-time Water Systems Maintenance Operator to support construction, operation, and upkeep of Provo City’s water distribution system. This role involves skilled field work, safety compliance, and collaboration with a dedicated municipal team.

The position offers an hourly wage between 24.25 and 40.64, employer-paid health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leaves. A 4/10 work schedule and recreation perks are included, with opportunities for educational assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at all levels.
• Flagger certificate must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• CDL Class B required; higher classes and Hazmat endorsement preferred for advanced levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in excavating ground for water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, meters and related facilities.
• Place traffic controls for protection of workers and public.
• Install, maintain and repair water mains, meters, hydrants and related equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain records.
