Job summary

City of Fort Wayne is seeking a part-time Civil/Water Systems Engineer to design and improve our city's water infrastructure. You will collect, analyze, and verify project data, and assist with planning, design, and construction engineering under supervision.

You'll draft construction plans using AutoCAD or Civil 3D, manage PMIS records, and coordinate with City staff to resolve project issues. This role offers mentorship, practical experience, and the opportunity to serve the Fort Wayne

Qualifications

ABET-accredited civil/mechanical/electrical engineering degree.
Knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology and engineering design principles.
Strong computer skills including drafting and spreadsheet software.
Valid Indiana driver's license.

Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and verify project data for water system improvements.
Draft construction plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software.
Assist with planning, design, and construction engineering projects under supervision.
Manage project documentation and PMIS records, including permits and easement acquisition.
Coordinate with City staff and Capital Project Services to resolve project issues.
