Job summary

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking a Water Systems Supervisor to oversee the 24-hour operation of the Operations Control Center which monitors and controls the regional water system.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of lead or supervisory experience in water systems operation.
• Two years of college level coursework toward an Associate degree in Waterworks; Water Management or equivalent Water Resource degree.
• Certification by the State of Washington as a Water Distribution Manager 2 (WDM II) is required; continuing education.
• Valid Washington State driver license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the 24-hour operation of the Operations Control Center.
• Provides technical support and coordination for capital improvement projects (CIP).
• Supervises the work of subordinate staff.
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises water system configuration changes for routine operations, CIP, and maintenance.
• Responds to emergencies as needed.
