Job summary

Kleinfelder is hiring a Water System Operator to support Katy, TX and Sealy, TX operations in a flexible role with up to 15 hours weekly. You will operate and maintain pumps, monitor meters, collect samples, and prepare reports, with 75% field work and 25% office time.

A valid driver’s license and water operator licenses are required or pursued. The position offers competitive pay and benefits while contributing to safe, efficient water treatment and wastewater plant operations.

• Water Operator License: Class C preferred; Class D acceptable if C not available within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and blowers.
• Complete and follow-up on work orders and process control monitoring.
• Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours.
• Service and maintain equipment and overall plant.
• Clean sand and media filters.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls.
• Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain of custody.
• Log plant operation details and prepare reports.
• Monitor treatment processes and apply adjustments based on results.
