Responsibilities
- Follow company and OSHA safety procedures; attend safety meetings and participate in safety program
- Maintain maintenance records
- Monitor pumps, piping, filter equipment, and centrifuge
- Monitor chemical systems
- Collect samples for water testing
- Adjust metering pumps as needed
- Switch chemical totes when required
- Clear water line jams using water/air compressor to monitor water flow
- Perform preventative maintenance: lubricating, measuring wear
- Operate small equipment (forklifts, skid steers, etc.) as needed
- Provide technical support: monitor production equipment, adjust feed/discharge rates, troubleshoot issues
- Conduct frequent inspections of plant to detect malfunctions and report to supervisor
- Perform daily scheduled preventative and emergency maintenance on production equipment (greasing, lubricating, cleaning, measuring)
- Maintain grounds clear of debris while ensuring safety standards
- Perform interior and exterior building maintenance, housekeeping, and general clean‑up of yard areas and equipment
- Communicate via radio with teammates for traffic coordination, production, and safety procedures
- Cross‑train in other positions and assist other employees as needed
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment while providing excellent customer service
- Minimum one year of general labor experience in heavy manufacturing or warehouse environments, preferably scrap metal or construction
- Ability to stand or walk up to 12 hours per day
- Adaptability to frequent priority changes; complete tasks safely and effectively with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and consistency
- Forklift operation a plus
- Willingness to work overtime, off‑hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial/warehouse setting and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Tolerance for extreme heat and exposure to weather
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Candidate within 50 miles of location preferred
- Bilingual preferred
