Job summary

The Town of Holly Springs seeks a Utility Technician I/II/III for its Distribution team to perform daily maintenance and repair of the water distribution and collection systems, ensuring water flow, sewer flow, and water quality throughout the town. The role requires ability to read and follow instructions, operate diverse maintenance equipment, and maintain detailed records.

Occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation are required, with a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in water distribution and collection systems.
• Ability to obtain Class B CDL and certifications within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, and maintains water and sewer systems, including locating utilities and repairing lines.
• Maintains lift stations and associated electrical equipment and pumps.
• Maintains records using computer programs and updates work orders.
• Operates sewer camera system to inspect lines and document conditions.
• Locates infrastructure and installs/repairs valves and meters.
• Performs emergency repairs and responds to after-hours needs.
• Ensures safety policies and regulations are followed.
• Maintains equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
