Job summary

The City of Lewiston Public Works department seeks a Water and Sewer Meter Reader Service Person for the Water & Sewer Division. This full-time role requires daily meter readings with handheld devices and data entry, with priority given to final reads and occasional troubleshooting.

A high school diploma or GED is required. Preference for candidates with Maine Class B CDL (Tanker's endorsement) and Maine Water Operator license Class 2; training is provided for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Maine Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement preferred.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Maine Water Operator license Class 2.

Responsibilities

• Daily meter readings using handheld device and computer system.
• Read meters on a weekly schedule and report findings to supervisors.
• Troubleshoot and fix reading problems within the reading system.
• Coordinate with Water & Sewer crews and business office for assignments.
