Job summary

Gulfshoresal seeks a skilled heavy equipment operator to drive and operate a backhoe and dump truck in support of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. You will uncover lines, trench for pipe, and assist in repairs while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires one year of heavy equipment experience, plus one year in water/sewer field operations, with licenses and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Texas CDL Class A is required or must be obtained within 6 months.
• Class II Wastewater and Class C Water Distribution licenses, or must be obtained within one year.
• One year of experience operating heavy motorized equipment.
• One year of water/sewer field operations or utility construction experience.
• Knowledge of TCEQ and AWWA Rules and Regulations.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump truck with backhoe to job locations.
• Operate backhoe hydraulic jackhammer to break pavement.
• Uncover water or sewer lines and excavate trenches for pipe installation.
• Assist crews in repairs and maintenance of systems.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Work safely and follow signals and directions around machinery.
