Job summary

The City of Smyrna is seeking a Utilities Technician to support the water distribution and sewer collection systems. This role involves operating heavy equipment, repairing services, and assisting in main repairs while responding to emergencies. Starting pay ranges from $20.54 to $26.19 per hour depending on experience.

Candidate will work outdoors in varying weather, with CDL required and DOT/compliance checks. This position offers growth with the Water & Sewer Department in Smyrna, GA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) for operated vehicle/equipment.
• Must pass background and DOT checks including drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assists in repair and replacement of water and sewer services.
• Assists in repair of water main breaks.
• Operates assigned equipment and drives crew vehicles.
• Flushing and bleeding of mains and services.
• Responds to emergencies day and after hours.
