Job summary

AE2S is seeking a Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager in Maple Grove, MN (or Woodbury, MN) to lead water engineering projects and client relationships. The role requires planning, design, coordination, and execution of projects, with responsibility for budgets and schedules, and collaboration with sub-consultants and internal teams.

The candidate will have 10+ years of municipal civil engineering experience, a PE or eligibility, and ability to travel for business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is ideal or obtainable within 3 months.
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the water market sector.
  • Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgment and aptitude among peers, management, and staff.
  • Pre-employment checks may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects including design, plans, specifications, reports, budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Provide professional services for the design and construction of water collection systems and water treatment facilities.
  • Work within multi-discipline projects including civil, electrical, and architectural aspects.
  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
  • Maintain budgets and schedules and foster strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members.
  • Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development.

Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager - Maple Grove, MN or Woodbury, MN

The Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager will work closely with project team members to manage and execute a variety of projects. This individual will be responsible for planning, design, coordination, and execution of projects as well as project and client management.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors
  • Provide professional services for the design and construction of water collection systems, and water treatment facilities
  • Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural aspects

  • Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments and maintain quality client relationships and communication
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members
  • Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the water market sector
  • Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Design work and knowledge with water treatment and collection systems, utility planning, and other municipal vertical and horizontal infrastructure
  • Experience leading both internal initiatives and external projects
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Physical Qualifications
  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.
