Job summary

I-2-I Solutions is seeking Environmental Water Quality Technicians to perform quarterly field sampling and on-site testing at Salisbury VA Medical Center, NC. The role involves aseptic sampling of potable water, in-field testing of key parameters, and documenting results for regulatory compliance.

You'll coordinate schedules with VA staff, maintain chain-of-custody, and ensure data uploads to the national Water Safety Management Tool.

Responsibilities

• Complete chain-of-custody documentation and transfer data into Excel templates for the Water Safety Management Tool.
• Conduct rapid re-sampling within 5 working days if positive detections occur.

I-2-I Solutions provides comprehensive environmental monitoring and water safety testing across Veterans Affairs healthcare facilities in North Carolina and Virginia. We are seeking Environmental Water Quality Technicians to execute collect quarterly water sampling, conduct field parameter testing, and manage regulatory reporting to help maintain safe potable and utility water systems.

Coverage Areas & Quarterly Workload

• Salisbury VA Medical Center | 1601 Brenner Ave, Salisbury, NC 28144 - 144 base samples/qtr

Work Schedule & Availability

• Type: Part-time / Cyclical quarterly visits, with intermittent on-demand re-sampling support
• Hours: Standard VA business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Planning: Field sampling dates are scheduled in advance, with a required 1-week notice issued to facility staff prior to arrival

Key Responsibilities

• Field Sampling: Perform aseptic first-draw sampling of hot/cold potable water fixtures, ice machines, and cooling tower basins in accordance with CDC and ISO 11731 methodologies
• Field Analytics: Measure and record real-time water quality indicators, including temperature, pH, free chlorine, and total chlorine levels
• Compliance & Data Logging: Complete laboratory chain-of-custody documentation and transfer test data into standardized Excel templates configured for the national Water Safety Management Tool
• Responsive Follow-Up: Conduct rapid re-sampling visits within 5 working days if positive detections occur

Security & Facility Credentialing

Because operations occur within active clinical environments, personnel must complete VA background vetting and secure facility security badging prior to commencing site work.
