Job summary

I-2-I Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Environmental / Water Sampling Technician to support VA Medical Centers in NC and VA. This role involves onsite water sampling and quarterly field visits, collecting samples and performing readings during normal business hours.

You will complete chain-of-custody documentation and assist with data uploads to national Water Safety Management Tool spreadsheets, with background clearance and badging required for VA facilities.

Responsibilities

• Sample Collection: Collect first-draw potable water, ice, cooling tower, and retest samples per CDC/ISO11731.
• Field Testing & Measurements: Record parameters like temperature, pH, free/chlorine levels.
• Documentation & Data Uploads: Complete chain-of-custody and populate Excel spreadsheets.
• Resampling Support: perform re-sampling within 5 working days after positive detections.

About the Role

I-2-I Solutions performs water quality testing supporting water management programs at VA Medical Centers across North Carolina and Virginia. As an Environmental / Water Sampling Technician, you will collect water samples, perform field parameter readings, and complete required compliance documentation.

Location

• Durham VA Medical Center - 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705 (48 samples/quarter)

Schedule

Part-time and quarterly, with on-demand support as needed. Sampling visits occur on a quarterly schedule during normal VA business hours, with a 1-week advance notification before each visit.

What You Would Do

• Sample Collection: Collect first-draw potable hot/cold water samples, ice/dispenser samples, cooling tower water samples, and retest samples following CDC and ISO 11731 procedures.
• Field Testing & Measurements: Measure and record physical and chemical parameters, including temperature, pH, free/residual chlorine, and total chlorine.
• Documentation & Data Uploads: Complete full laboratory chain-of-custody documentation and populate national Water Safety Management Tool Excel spreadsheets.
• Resampling Support: re-sampling within 5 working days following positive detections.

Facility Access

Because the work is performed inside VA medical facilities, access requires background clearance and badging approval in coordination with facility points of contact prior to performing site work.
