YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is seeking individuals to join our team as Drowning Prevention Swim Instructors. This part-time role focuses on teaching children essential swimming and water-safety skills, with no prior certification required. The YMCA provides free training and certification as part of the program.

You will teach foundational skills using the YMCA curriculum, emphasizing water safety and drowning prevention while creating a safe and encouraging learning environment for kids.

Qualifications

• Be at least 17 years old.
• Available Monday–Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Comfortable and confident in the water.
• Able to complete YMCA Lifeguard V7 physical competency requirements.
• Able to complete YMCA Swim Instructor V6 physical competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming and water-safety skills using the YMCA of the USA Swim Instructor curriculum.
• Provide instruction focused on drowning prevention and foundational swimming skills.
• Create a safe, positive, engaging learning environment for children.
• Communicate progress with children and parents/guardians.
• Monitor participant progress and program outcomes.
