The City of Dearborn is seeking seasonal Lifeguards to monitor pool safety, teach swimming lessons, and maintain cleanliness at municipal pools. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication and collaboration, and must hold current lifeguard and CPR certifications. This role requires flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

RATE OF PAY: $15.75 per hour
MINIMUM AGE: 17 years
THOSE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
Lifeguards who have satisfactorily completed at least two seasons of service at an Outdoor pool facility or at least six months at an Indoor pool facility.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT
Seasonal - Starting in late May and ending in September. Employee may work 5-6 days per week (up to 40-50 hours per week) Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours. Other than scheduled days off, requests are only granted if a qualified worker can substitute for the employee. It is the employee's responsibility to secure a substitute. Do not plan on taking an extended vacation.
General Description
The employee in this position will also act as a Head Lifeguard in the absence of the Head Lifeguard. Position may also teach swimming lessons at a municipal pool. This employee works as a lifeguard in the afternoons, evenings and on weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
