Job summary

Lorain County Metro Parks is seeking an Aquatics Instructor at the Amherst HealthPlex. Under close supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, plans, organizes, and provides quality swimming and water safety instruction in the Amherst HealthPlex.

Independent Contractor

Essential Functions

• Leads swim lessons and/or related classes.
• Communicates and enforces HealthPlex policies and procedures as they relate to water safety.
• Assists in set-up and clean-up of aquatic programs.
• Trains participants in a manner that is both demonstrative and professional.
• Records attendance for each class.
• Fills out the timecard accordingly.
• Develops positive relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance.
• Communicates needs, issues, and concerns to the Facility Coordinator.

Requirements

• Must possess Red Cross First Aid Certification.
• Must possess Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
• Must possess Red Cross CPR certification.
