Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is hiring a limited-term, full-time structural engineering intern to work on water resources projects from May/June 2027 through August 2027.

This internship lives in the Dams, Hydro, and Flood Risk Reduction unit, with opportunities on concrete rehabilitation, pump stations, and more. The intern will assist with design calculations, data compilation, drafting, and construction document prep, alongside on-site visits.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two semesters of college coursework in civil/structural/architectural engineering (4 semesters preferred).
• Experience with MS Office software.
• AutoCAD and/or Civil3D experience is advantageous.
• Experience with structural design software such as RISA or ENERCALC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and design technicians with structural tasks on water resources projects.
• Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, data analysis, and draft technical reports.
• Help prepare construction documents and review shop drawings/RSIs.
• Attend project site visits and support related tasks.
