Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineer to perform design under limited supervision. You will analyze requirements, use design software, and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver project solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 5–10 years of relevant experience. The work involves field coordination, client meetings, and preparing reports, with occasional travel and driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from ABET accredited program.
• 5-10 years' experience in specialized discipline.
• Proficient in discipline specific design software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Written and communication skills.
• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project requirements and information from alternative studies to develop an accurate report for submittal.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects/tasks.
• Perform design computations.
• Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
• Develop or review the construction cost estimate.
• Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates.
• Attend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and design.
• Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
• Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department.
