Job summary

Singhofen Halff in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineering Project Manager with a Florida PE license to lead design and delivery for municipal and government projects.

You will oversee multiple projects with FEMA, FDOT, water districts, and local agencies; manage budgets and schedules; guide staff; and pursue business development opportunities. The role is on‑site with a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of water resources project delivery experience.
  • Florida PE license required.
  • ABET-accredited civil/environmental degree.
  • Experience with FEMA, FDOT, WMDs, FDEP and local municipalities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop water resources design projects for FDOT, FEMA, WMDs, FDEP and locals.
  • Perform flood risk education and planning for infrastructure.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring on‑time delivery within budget.
  • Collaborate with design staff, consultants and clients to meet specs.
  • Assist in workload planning and supervision of staff.

Water Resources Engineering Project Manager - Tampa, FL

Singhofen Halff has an immediate opening for an experienced Professional Water Resources Engineer, with a Florida PE License, to fulfill the role of Project Manager in Tampa, FL.

The ideal candidate will bring experience working with FEMA, FDOT, Water Management Districts, FDEP, and local municipalities. What you will do:
  • Work under a Water Resources Team Leader in the development of Water Resources design projects for the FDOT, FEMA, Water Management Districts, FDEP, and local municipalities.
  • Perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure.
  • Oversee and manage multiple Water Resources projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Work closely with the other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Florida communities.
  • Assist in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize any adverse impacts on project outcomes.
  • Review water resources designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in Water Resources project delivery
  • Civil Engineering Project Management experience in the Water Resources industry required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Florida
  • Technical experience with ICPR4 (Storm wise) and ArcGIS
  • Requires technical experience and/or familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, water resources planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure
  • Proficient in project management, administration, and supervision of technical staff
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from inception to completion
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and multi-task
  • Proven business development experience
  • Positive attitude, self‑directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
