Job summary

WSP USA invites energetic students to join the Water Resources Engineering Internship in Chicago with options in Indianapolis, Detroit, Minneapolis and Springfield IL. This 12-week summer program starts May 17, 2027, and is designed for undergraduates or graduates enrolled in engineering-related programs.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering or related undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Dec 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Interest in water or related field and intent to grow skills related to WSP’s projects.
• Able to communicate effectively to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of following directions from mentors and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
